Mechanical Engineering Student
Welcome to my page!
I am a senior mechanical engineering student at Cal Poly Pomona. Graduating in spring 2025, the move to industry is right around the corner. I’ve put a lot of time and effort into my studies over the years, but that’s not all I’ve done. Sometimes, I was able to take enough time to eat or maybe even sleep! Totally kidding, I haven’t slept in four years.
In all seriousness, I’ve loved a lot of my studies, especially those involving stress analysis and mechatronics. I’ve completed several projects revolving around these topics, such as building an autonomous line-following robot and designing a thermal control valve to go on NASA’s Europa Clipper satellite (check projects tab!), and with more projects on the way, such as an emergency antivenom-carrying VTOL aircraft.
However, I can see myself moving into nearly any field, as I find myself not only able to learn quickly with new information and situations, but also find significant interest in it. For example, I wanted to be able to showcase some of my project work, so I created this page. I had never made a webpage prior to this. My website was made 100% by me using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript in VS Code, no 3rd parties.
Me at my university
Fracturing glass in a 3-point bending machine
Soldering a MOSFET together for my electromagnet project
Grinding pipes that build the Cal Poly Baja SAE car's frame
Of course, like any normal person, I also spend much needed time on hobbies and out with family/friends. I love nature and seeing as much of it as possible, whether it’s on a bike, from a tent, etc. I stay active via the gym and sports, and would even say I’m pretty okay at some of them. Up for a game of pickleball?
I also love to create, regardless of the medium. This includes coding games, producing music, making new dinner and cocktail recipes, and I’ve done woodworking for as long as I can remember. The process of seeing something in my mind come to fruition through my efforts is one of my all time favorite feelings.
Hiking Bonita Falls in the San Gabriel Mountains
A wooden corner desk I built in preparation of online college classes back in 2020
View from a mountaintop in Queensland, New Zealand
Golfing with my family down in San Diego
Unfortunately did not have any other pants/shorts to wear, so was stuck with jeans
Of course, I didn’t spend all of my time outside of classes/studying just doing whatever I want, there are bills to pay. I’ve held a variety of positions, starting with backyard manual labor conductor (still employed) to actual positions at Target, Apex (an HVAC company), my university, and currently an internship at Ajinomoto. I dive deeper in the employment tab, but essentially I’ve been working a lot over the past several years to help with school payments and rent, learning tons along the way.
If you have found things on this page somewhat interesting and have questions, please reach out! I am always down to talk.
